A t-shirt that just says "community college" is a fairly common ironic t-shirt that I'm sure the director was hoping you didn't notice. I live directly across the street from Liberty University so I was hoping at first that this movie would be about me, but sadly it isn't.

The fact that you were not aware of the oppression of Sàmi people doesn't mean it's an unimportant concern. If you need an American equivalent, it's similar to First Nation oppression in Canada. And yes, the churches of Sweden and Norway are very much culpable as well. The Norwegian government was talking about "the Sàmi question" ffs. It's not a "haha funny indigenous genocide"...

I think the joke is that an America college student would have no idea what the Sami people are or about their oppression. It's a very random topic to throw out in a movie allegedly about American college kids.

It doesn’t help that until fairly recently, the Sami people were known in the US as Lapps or Laplanders, and many of us learned something about them in school by that name (though nothing about their troubles). A lot of Americans honestly don’t know them by the new, more appropriate name. If you told Americans that the quaint reindeer-driving Lapps were in trouble, you might get more response. That’s no excuse, of course, but there it is.

Despite the jokes near the end, Tylenol is actually a pretty dangerous way to overdose. The gap between a therapeutic dose and a dangerous one isn't large, and it's likely if it were discovered today, we probably would consider it too dangerous to be otc. It's also a pretty bad way to go, and basically unavoidable once symptoms occur without a nearly immediate liver transplant.
