Sorry to hear that, Wanda. About them not paying. 😞 But it would be a shame to not see the video.
Well, I will soon release the next custom video I haven’t been paid for. So I used to do custom work, like take a script, make custom show some previews, and then they pay and send them the video. Never happened to me before that somebody hasn’t paid. Now it has happened like twice in 3 months, so…I have to think about it. You know, when you do video like for somebody else, it’s harder because you really do not know 100 percent what that “man” wants; you just can try to understand. On the other hand, I have to say most people I dealt with were honest and good people.
It’s not fair on you to have to trust random people to pay after you make the video. You should take the money up front to be safe. It’s on the customers to trust you to deliver.
I would say; Don’t start working on it until you see the money… It’s only fair. Try not to get cheated.
I see your point, and most of the creators, or all of them, do it like that, but I hate the feeling of having the money before I deliver:D
You could try asking for half the money first, and half when it’s ready. You made a custom video for me (vampire queen Selena) and I would have been happy to put money down. But I also have gotten scammed on the other side - a video creator took the money then never made the video… It makes it hard to trust people!
True, it’s hard to trust. When I ordered my custom video, I waited like 1 year to get 2 of the 3 parts and never got the last part. So…yeah.
Oh, what production was that with? Just curious… I guess I’ve been lucky, not had any issues with customs, well, some didn’t quite follow my script properly, but still not bad. Of course, your custom video for me was amazing, Wanda. I still watch it :)
It was a long time ago, one production from the femmefatale board, at that time, there were more people complaining about the delivery time.
