Hello all. Has anyone tried to cutting any of these files on a circuit machine before. Would love to get a SVG file for the image but couldnt see it in the membership area.

Hello! Wondering if anyone could help me understand how the cut files and silhouette work. I’ve been loving using these minis and would love even more to get cleaner cuts and hopefully save myself hours of using scissors. But I want to make sure I understand how it all works before I get a machine that I would prolly only use for this.

I downloaded the studio software and one of the cut files to look at but I don’t quite get how it works.

Here are my main questions:

1. Do you custom make a page and then print it out? Or is there a preset you are supposed to use?

2. Once printed, do you just put it into the machine? Or are there other steps you have to do?

3. When cut out, do you have to glue the front and back sides together? Is this easy? Is there a way to do 2 sided?

Hi there!

1. You use the software with your cutter to open the cut files. It’s absolutely possible to make custom sheets inside the software. Just make sure you copy the cut marks as well as the image. That then gets converted into a PDF you print out and then feed into the cutter.
2. You need to align the cutter to make sure it’s cutting correctly, which can be a bit fiddly.
3. Yes, and yes. Just grab a glue stick and smear it all over both then glue them up. Then, grab a black marker and draw around the edge to give the whole thing a more professional look.

Hi. Just joined. Very exciting – I’ve not made paper standies for 45 years back when we first drew them (in crayon, clearly) for AD&D as we couldn’t afford to go up to London to buy minis. Oh how things have changed, eh? Just wondered if there’s a printer over here that does your stuff laminated, black edged and laser-cut? I might be interested in ordering some to bulk up rapidly. Also having problems finding bases in the UK other than 25mm on Amazon. I’d prefer 30mm generally as I play 36mm TrueScale in minis so the dungeons are all that size with bases at 30mm. If anyone has any insight about either of these the kids and I would be very grateful. Cheers.

My buddy needed a dwarf with a hammer and he wanted him grim so I chose the pink skinned version of this model and shrunk it to like 60%.

Hello! I just joined as a patron. I absolutely love this project. The designs are fantastic and I’m impressed by the variety of minis available already. If I could make a recommendation, it would be an adventurers party pack for Shadowdark. Basically a set minis for each class and race. You seem to have most of them already, but I could not find a priest or wizard class for the goblin or half-orc.

How do you all use the cut files, any tutorials available?

Do you have a silhouette cutting machine/software? That’s the biggest reason I’m a Patron because I have the software because I can then just bring it over into the program for my silhouette to cut them out. Not a tutorial by any means but hopefully that helps somewhat.

So you provide the cut files with the token pictures? I am thinking of buying either a circuit or silhouette

To make it clear I have been a patron for a but and I hand cut the minis usually (I always loved your minis and used to use the free one for a while) but I think the machine cut ones are wonderful and just want to make sure it’s easy to use

I’ve had my silhouette for over 10 years and had originally only used it for cutting vinyl. You basically just have to download the cut file -> import into silhouette software which is free-> give the paper “registration” marks which are just a block and arrow on three sides of the paper and make the size letter size if that’s what your printing on. -> print this whether that be your home printer or print shop ( I use my local print shop on 110 lb cardstock) the registration marks will print as well which then once you put the sheet on your sticky cutting mat the machine will read the registration marks and this allows the cutter to align it perfectly to the shape. I’m probably making this sound much more complicated but it truly is fairly simple once you learn to not mess with default settings because your machine won’t cut the shapes correctly if you try to make the margins smaller. I have a 3d printer as well but absolutely LOATH painting minis so this is my option to have tons of options to pick from when it comes to npcs and pcs.

Search for the Vault of Mini Things. it’s a box set that comes with over 800 standees, and it uses all the art from Printable Heroes. All the standees are coated and feel similar to playing cards. Just got mine and it’s awesome.
