It’s hard for me to get hyped about GTA

tbh ive hated rockstar ever since gta5 first came out and immediately struck the entire “city simulation action sandbox” genre dead, b/c i really loved saints rows 3 and 4

Just came back from the ER and it hit me : there’s not nearly enough wlw in horror genres in the protagonist roles. And I’m not talking about the ridiculous kind like in chucky. That one sucked ass. No. I mean like in .. yellowjackets but (kind of spoiler) something happens that you won’t like so yeah. Sucks.

can i offer u a nice SIGNALIS in this trying time? also Control. and Department of Variance of Somewhere, Ohio. and Choose The Bear. and Fear Street trilogy. and depending on how liberally ur willing to interpret things as “horror”, Two Thousand And Late.

These are too soft for me but thank you anyways for the effort, they are still good recommendations

But I mean movies like The VVitch, Passenger, Undertone, HIM, Hokum, Sinister, Midsommar, Creep, Weapons, Us, etc. in that vibe just with less boring and less predictable protagonists. Like give me some badass lesbian characters in a folk horror movie or sum idk. Or gay fake ghost hunters who end up stuck in a real haunted idk what this time. Sick of the character choices I’m left to sketch rn.

hm. can u think of any sufficiently brutal examples starring gay men? my gut instinct is that life is already hard enough for queer folks that nobody who has the creative spark really wants to “see myself” in a story that dark

Admittedly I’ve only seen about half of those examples, but the dividing line that emerges compared to my recs is a predomination of human-on-human, and either lateral or privileged, violence

You should advertise your art somewhere else, there are platforms for that (discord groups, websites, etc.). Certainly not on somebody else’s patreon chat without the artist’s permission. I understand you’re trying to share your art but next time try to at least talk to the owner of the patreon.
