Video Progress Update! (Blog) (Patreon)

Hello everyone! I thought I'd just do a quick post to say how things are going.

As some of you may have seen via the channel community tab, or just through me mentioning it on Twitter... I got myself a new PC last month!

In the end I just got too fed up with trying to work with the old one, as it was getting me down and making my hobby more frustrating than it has any right to be... so I used some of my savings to invest in a new one!

I'd go into specifics but I don't really know what I'm talking about when it comes to that sort of thing to be honest. Editing has become a breeze (outside of the usual Vegas hiccups) and I'm also to use a lot more things like greenscreen, and can easily bring back in some of the drop shadow effects I was basically being forced to remove in more recent videos, which looks nice!

The only problem I'm occasionally having is recording gameplay using my capture card. I've no idea why but occasionally the software decides to mess up my recordings and even stop working. This seems to be less of an issue now I've moved some cables around but I need to get to the bottom of this eventually...

Anyway! Here's how the timeline for the next video is looking.

Even if that image doesn't mean much without context, I can at least tell you whereabouts I am...!

• I've had outside help making the custom Petronious to look right (it looks frickin' AMAZING by the way)
• Gameplay is fully recorded and lined up to the respective voiceover clips!
• B-roll for various unrelated (but kind-of relevant) games have been recorded and slapped into the edit!
• The intro (which involves lots of greenscreen!) has been fully completed!

As it stands right now all I really need to do is film the camera segments, and keep on adding my usual little visual animation stuff throughout the voiceover bits...

It's a little too late in the day to film after I get home from work, not to mention the heat... so I'll likely do that next week OR during a week off from work I have coming up soon.

I don't like to set myself deadlines at the moment but I think this video could realistically be ready to go by the end of the month.

The idea behind this video's intro is that as I'm looking at a licenced game (there's one hint) I'd take a trip to the cinema!

In this cinema I've included a few Easter egg posters for potential future projects ( no promises on any of those just yet... but they were fun to make!) and also a series of shots of me actually in the theatre getting ready to watch a movie!

On my own... because the cinema is supposed to be closed...

Anyway, yeah, they'll be a big logo reveal in the cinema! It looks great and I'll share another teaser image of that later on down the line.

The only slight concern is that this video certainly isn't a video that's in demand in the slightest... so I don't expect it to to do as well as Destroy All Humans, or Crash Bandicoot... but it's what I wanted to talk about so... there we are!
