The "wrong" story ideas! (Split fiction image sequence 12/?) (Pixiv Fanbox)

After escaping yet another long-term menace, Zoe and Mio found themselves sneaking around again: Hunting down the next story portal. The “lucky” escapee from their miniature peril turned out to be Mio, who managed to do everything required to free Zoe... With exception of finding a way to grow back to regular size. Try as she might, but even with the power of a favorable plot on her side, Mio had been unable to acquire the reversal spell. Which was in no small part due to the fact that the required spellbook was to be found on the workroom bookcase’s upper shelf. Securely lodged between tomes thicker than the yellow phonebooks from Mio’s child memories.

So with no way to revert their tiny size, Mio and Zoe instead decided to make due. And tiptoed through the sorceress shop. Being careful to not step onto the suspiciously shiny mousetraps littering the place. Half an hour (and one VERY close encounter with a sleep-drunk sorceress going for a midnight restroom trip) later, Mio and Zoe finally found what they were looking for: Another story portal, also conveniently miniature sized. Hearing the sorceress coming toward their direction after her bathroom visit meant they once again didn’t get a chance to think things over before taking their chances with the next story. With the duo instead just hoping that their predicament wouldn’t be too severe and a bit more “regular sized...”

One of those came true.

Zoe: “O-Oh crap, I definitely recognize this one Mio! Please tell me that-”

Mio: “-It ends differently?! Oh Zoe I REALLY wish that were the case!”

Zoe: “W-Wait, don’t tell me this is one of your INESCAPABLE stories?!”

Mio: ”NO! Or...well...not COMPLETELY!”

Zoe: “Oh Mio I REALLY don’t like the sound of that!”

Mio: “S-Stay calm! It’s just like with the previous one, a SUPER convenient malfunction will once again save one of our butts in a bit... Though things won’t be ‘as easy’ as last time.”

Zoe: ”AS EASY?! It sure didn’t feel easy last time Mio! I’m still somewhat AMAZED that I managed to find you between the toyified stock in the warehouse!”

Mio: “Yeah the trouble won’t be that this time around. The upcoming malfunction will disable both the belt and the CONTROL CHIPS on our spines. After which it shouldn’t be too hard for us to get loose and out of this assembly line.”

Zoe: “Okay, that sounds very doable actually?!”

Mio: “True, but the problem is that the malfunction is TEMPORARY. For BOTH of those. And in this story, I’ve sort of written that there’s no escape from these suits...”

Zoe: “Oh NO. You mean to say that...”

Mio: “Yeah. We’ll have to find another story portal BEFORE the malfunction ends or we’ll be dragged back and that machine will do more than put handles on you!”

Zoe: “Oh crap, now I REALLY regret not wearing heels more often!”

Seems my shceduled post of yesterday didn't fire for some reason; so this evening it's a double-wammy! First up is Mio and Zoe getting into a bit of a bind at another familiar assembly line...though it seems their escape this time will be a real tight one! Will they make it?
