Yikes! I’m starting to get the feeling some of Ruby’s ideas of having fun might actually be insane. The way she’s just throwing Zaphira like that cannot be safe for the latter in particular. Emery, by extension, is most certainly not helping the situation either. Good to see Violet and Cornelia being quick to call out Ivy’s attitude towards Shen without even getting to know him first. It’s really does seem like Cornelia and Venus are the two sisters among the Zodiac Sisters that seem to have their heads on straight the most, the former in particular feeling the most normal and down to earth in terms of personality, despite her heavily scarred and intimidating appearance, which is good, because any group with this many wildly varying appearances and personalities kinda needs a straight man, or in this case straight woman, to keep things grounded, stable and under control whenever everyone of them is present at one time. All the more, aside from maybe Neptun, if not to come to an understanding for why she is so depressed as is she is, and also Violet for “reasons” 😏, Cornelia really is the one of the Zodiac Sisters I’d be the most interested to see more of through a comic of her own, if that’s possible. She just seems like a character that has a lot of potential for cool stories to tell in terms of the adventures she gone through up to this point, or even after the events of this comic is over. On another note, HOT DAMN this girl is shredded back there! I’ll be honest I might have a weakness for well defined back muscles and Cornelia’s in this page just does it for me. I also love Violet taking the opportunity to tease Ivy on the fact that she apparently doesn’t have a partner to tend to her sexual urges whenever, unlike Zaphira who is literally about to get married to hers. The former quickly avoiding getting bitch slapped by the latter is also good way to imply to that these two have more than likely done this song and dance quite a number of times before. Violet may have said that Ivy was jealous of Zaphira just for the sake getting on her nerves, but I think that may be the main reason Ivy is acting this way about Shen in the first place. It is sadly a natural response when someone with a chip on their shoulder, or in this case someone with either a bruised ego, too much pride in themselves or low self-esteem, sees someone else attain something they would love to have but somehow lack the self-awareness to understand why they never got it while that other person did. So, they resort to either calling the thing that other person worthless or something they don’t deserve to have for whatever reason they could think of or find way to abuse or even ruin the person that has the thing they want, Ivy’s case being the former. This would add further perspective for why Ivy was quick to call Zaphira’s necklace a piece of complete gutter trash back in the April Q&A. Frankly, I agree with Cornelia in saying that Ivy is being far too quick to judge Shen after having just met the guy and would to like to stress again to she should take the chance to actually go talk with him. Maybe then, she’ll see Shen as far more than just a “common slave” that’s more than earned Zaphira’s love and hand in marriage. I can only hope then Shen will find someway break through Ivy’s ice-cold exterior and along her to see reason if they get the chance to talk here, but unfortunately, my gut tells me that first conversation is not going to go very well, whether it be because of Ivy’s perception of him at the moment or, worst case scenario, Shen’s key picking the absolute worst and most inappropriate time to wake up right then and there. 😬 Let’s hope for the best, in that regard.
