2025 wrap-up (Patreon)

2025 is finally coming to a close, and the less said about it the better. Instead, over the past couple of days I've been looking at my spreadsheets for things to work on in '26. Or at least the next two weeks in particular, while I'm chilling (literally) in Michigan.

For the comic, I may be jumping around a bit. Daisy's long weekend has dragged on for far too long, and if I'm ever going to finish it, I'm going to need more time away from it first. So instead, I'm thinking about revisiting a story that's been put off for a few years - the sequel to Toxic Candy.

That story has been written and re-written multiple times in the past few years, with the last version being a novella. Turning that into a comic script in the past couple of days... One problem is that I still think of things in terms of animation. The first draft I'd come up with felt more like a series of storyboards, with multiple pages doing nothing but adding tension rather than advancing the plot. While the initial estimate was around 12 pages, that could be cut down to 8, and one of those cut pages could be spun off into its own side story.

Aside from the comic, there are also plenty of pinup ideas to pick from and develop further. The Mimi ideas from July alone could probably keep me busy all year!

A new animation reel is another thing I've been putting off for too long, and I should also put some time into figuring out how to demo my rigging work. Then there are my laserdisc & VHS backup projects, and some ideas for Youtube videos...

It could be a busy year. The trick will be not over-extending myself.
