Giantess Clothing Control + Quest System Now Available! GSS 0.4.863 (Patreon)

Hello everyone! The Giantess clothing change feature voted on in the last poll is now live in the production environment! This update includes many quality of life features like a new player tutorial built on a quest system, a new tool for finding a giantess easier, a cheat menu, and lots of smol changes n fixes to make the game feel better!

⚠️ Existing Saves must be migrated! The Production environment will be the primary build updated from now on because the Eastern Isle level design is now fully playable!

💾 Save Game Migration Instructions
Previous save games will need to be moved to a new folder that will preserve Saves from now on in their own directory.
1. Open "C:\[Username]\GSS\32\Staging\GSS\Saved"
2. Copy the Save file you want. Usually called "Autosave"
3. Paste the Save file to "C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\GSS\Saved\SaveGames"

New Features

Giantess Altar menu

Added to give more info for a giantess including your current favor, her distance, and cost of various requests

• Remove Clothing / Add Clothing: removes or restores one piece at a time. A System chat message announces each change.

• Interacting with the Altar now opens a menu showing her name, your favor, your tier, and her distance from the Altar.

• Each option shows its favor cost, range and required tier, and explains why it's unavailable (too far, not enough favor, tier too low).

• Fixed: having exactly enough favor now counts as enough.

New Quest System

Added a detailed tutorial on start to help new players learn the game mechanics. Also the foundation for NPC quests!

• A tutorial quest called Smol Steps will start when you spawn

• New NPC quest system test added to the Little Helper.

Giantess Compass

Added to make finding the giantess easier!

• New tool, crafted at the Workbench: 50 Souls, 2 Tol Wood, 10 Tol Fiber (15 s)

• Hold it and it lights with a blue flame when you are facing a giantess. Flame gets brighter and flickers faster the closer you are

• It burns 1 Soul per second while lit

Cheat Menu

Added to help with testing, taking screenshots, or just skipping gameplay! Replaces console which broke things more often than not.

• Cheat Menu button in the pause menu, above Exit.

• Set a size override for spawning enemies.

• Giantess tab to adjust her favor and size.

Little Helper dialogue update

• New questions: "Where can I find wood?" and "What can I eat and drink?"

• Updated answers for tol grass, glass, mining, flint, the giantess, building, repair and lore.

Other additions

• Character screen: a new Size stat shows your height in feet and inches and updates live as you shrink.

• Patron names on the main menu now load live from the server, so new supporters appear without a game update.

• Shrine of Faux Pas in the Elven Forest and Shrine of Wuggy in the swamp give new 30 minute buffs

Changes

• Escape now closes whatever screen is open (inventory, crafting, containers, journal, map, cheat menu, dialogue) before opening the pause menu.

• Tribute chest + experimental shrinking: with the experimental shrink setting on, opening the tribute chest now shrinks you one step for each tribute she took, the same as offering through dialogue

• Roof now costs 5 Wood + 6 Fiber, and Half Roof 3 Tol Wood + 4 Fiber. Both previously used Palm Leaf

• Copper clothing at the Workbench is now correctly named Copper Vest, Pants, Gloves and boots

• The giantess now starts closer to the player spawn.

• The Favor tab and Altar now show favor values in numbers in addition to the progress bar colored by tier

• Saves from the original map (one with a lot of water) continue on the new Eastern Isle map, keeping your character's progress.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed giantess chat dialogue overlapping other menus and blocking clicks

• Fixed the pickup log climbing up and off the screen as you collected items.

• Fixed the giantess getting stuck on rocks in the Bamboo Forest.

• Added boundary blocking around the island so the giantess can no longer fall off the map.

• Fixed map icons floating over characters in Photo Mode's free camera.

• Fixed Photo Mode's FOV staying changed after exiting photo mode

• Fixed the game opening at a lower, stretched resolution on first launch on 4K monitors with Windows display scaling

• Fixed switching to a hotbar item with the number keys restoring your health to full.

The upcoming poll on the 5th will feature choices for new enemy types and enemy size magic as decided by the Size Council!
