Metal talons locked around his skull, splitting the lobes apart with cold precision. Tiny creatures skittered over his exposed brain, their gadgets hissing as they latched on.
They squeezed, pulsed, and sank connections deep into the tissue—rewriting every impulse.
His body twitched… then stilled. The alien pilot tested its new vessel.
