Armageddon was INTENSE! Is there any space-related movies that you all would recommend that are family-friendly category, and therefore hopefully less intense?

EDIT: I was thinking more light-hearted / "kids" movies

Let’s see. I would have said that Apollo 13 was family friendly, but you’ve seen it. How about Titan A.E? It’s animated, is exciting and has a great voice cast.

The Right Stuff is a dramatic story based in a factual mission. "Based on a true story". It was on your last poll and I voted for and recommend that. A complete work of fiction but an 80s movie that I have not seen in years but would recommend is Space Camp. It is about kids at summer camp for kids who are interested in becoming astronauts or working in the space program. The camp works in conjuction with NASA. It was good.

This is what I would recommend: Titan A.E. 2000 (My first choice) Treasure Planet 2002 Wall-E 2008

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Not a kid's movie, or a particularly accurate adaptation of the books, but it's still a lot of fun

I'd suggest WALL-E or E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial as good family-friendly space movies
