It's a general unspoken rule that if somebody in your life expresses curiosity about questioning their gender or other telltale signs most trans people would look back on and go "ohhhh my god, this is exactly what *I* thought four years ago when I was super clueless and full of doubt and shame", you wait for them to figure themselves out instead of bluntly telling them they're probably trans
