Whew... where do I even begin... Hello, my dears! I hope you’re all doing well!
So... In the end, the release of Clown Squad went fairly well. Even though there were some issues with itch.io during the first few days, which meant that quite a few people who theoretically should have seen the game... simply didn’t. But oh well.
As for the actual development progress, it’s difficult to say. Last Sunday, I reached the milestone of 500 renders, and at that pace, I was hoping to hit the next milestone, 1.000 renders, sometime this week. Unfortunately, that didn’t quite work out. I had to create several new items in blender and build new environments for the upcoming chapter, and let me tell you... that was a real pain in the ass.
On the bright side, I do have some good news: I’ve finished several animations! Seven in total, with a few more currently in progress.
Now, what kind of scenes are they?
Mostly a bit of fighting and some racing. But there are also a few more interesting ones, for example, a little fun with Alice... and a whole lot of fun with Tia! So overall, the chapter should be packed with content.
Now, a little about the writing and scripting. After giving it some thought, I found myself wondering: how can I make the writing better? And that’s more or less where I’ve been stuck. I write a scene, rewrite it, start over, rewrite it again... and I’ve been repeating that cycle for the past few days. I suppose I’m just not smart enough... It always feels as though something is missing. Still, if this continues for too long, I’ll probably leave the text as it is and release it with roughly the same level of writing quality as the previous update. Average, but acceptable. Although, of course, I’d really like to do better. That’s all regarding Clown Squad. Now... a little about the space opera, Astreon. A lot of people have been messaging me, telling me to abandon the game and focus entirely on C.S. The answer is no. Astreon will remain my main game, just as it has always been. However, because of its size, complexity, and my own limited writing skills, I currently struggle to properly draw players into it.
That’s why I’m looking for proofreaders and readers who can point out the problems: where the story starts losing people, what feels missing, which questions need answers, what doesn’t work, and so on. I’m not planning to remake the game (Again), but I do need to address some of the narrative debts left behind by the earlier chapters and avoid repeating those mistakes in the future.
So, if anyone is interested in helping, my DMs on Discord are open. On a more entertaining note, the next Astreon update, version 0.5, is currently planned to include around three adult scenes: Kalestra, Miriel, and... perhaps a threesome?
So yes. Fun times ahead for both games.
There is also one more thing regarding Astreon. I’ll probably start spending more time on the girls and their relationships with the MC. How exactly I’m going to balance all of that with everything else... Well, I’ll think about that later.
For now, here are a few funny bonus renders I made a couple of days ago.
