I was hoping I wouldn't need to do this again but I'm going to need to pause billing for the forseeable future.

I had planned to assemble a patron-only build with missing or placeholder assets by Halloween but unfortunately that isn't going to happen. The editing process has taken longer than I expected and the coding process is barely started. I was going at a fair rate back in September but October has been tough and at this point I think I'm at risk of burning myself out. It's my fault of course, this is what happens when you procrastinate.

However, the other reason is that Nerton has being going through a rough time. I don't want to go into details because, frankly, it's not my place. But I don't want to pressure him to make assets or pester him at this time.

I know we've been here before, but it's just not fair for you to pay when I can't give you a deadline anymore. I pondered unpublishing the patreon which would freeze payments but wouldn't delete everything, but Patreon now charges a pretty shocking 10% flat fee on all earnings, something I've avoided because I started this one before the fee was introduced. Unpublishing and republishing would change that.

So for the forseeable future, I will be pausing billing. I won't be pausing posting, but I won't begin charging again until at the very least I actually have a build ready to provide to you. As deeply grateful as I am for your patience and contributions, the lack of something to show for it is really, really weighing on me.

This isn't a cancellation or even a hiatus (at least for me) and I will as always keep you informed.

Thanks as always for your support.

Edit: If anyone would like a refund for this month, please reach out and I'll look into it ASAP.

The post had me concerned not gonna lie "^w^ Do take your time, deadlines do help sometimes with procrastination, but if you yourself are concerned of burnout, then you should not force out a build as quick as possible. As you in a rather noble way have paused your billing, take your time, good things take time

I don't really know how to say this, but when I first read Polar Night, it legitimately shocked me with how different it felt from the larger FVN scene. It's stayed in my favorites for a while now, and I don't see it leaving. I honestly think you're one of the best authors in the scene right now, and if time is what's needed right now, I don't think any of us mind. We'll still all be here whenever the time for more actually comes. Your work speaks for itself, man. Don't pressure yourself. When you've got more done, you've have more done. It's just how it works. Sometimes it'll take a bit, but that's fine, and no matter when it happens, we'll be happy for it. Deadlines will mess with you if you let them. Just do what you can when you can, and no matter what, you'll have made something to be proud of. I, for one, am just happy to be a part of it.

Oh buddy it's ok. Sorry to hear what's going on with you and Nerton. Take your time, just Keeping us informed is enough for me 😊. The most important thing right now is that both of your take care of yourself.

Please don't feel pressure to burn yourself out, or guilt from not doing so. You and Nerton do a superb job with this VN, but it is just a VN and patreon is just a tip jar. Take it easy, get some rest. I hope Nerton is able to get through whatever he is going through as well.

You are a very honest creator, and I truly respect that. But there’s no need to apologize. Things like this just happen. What’s important is that not only we, as the audience for your work, but also you, as the creator, find joy in what you’re doing. I’ve been following this visual novel for quite some time, and honestly, it’s in my top 3 favorite furry VNs. I know that whatever you create will be great and well worth the wait. Waiting a bit longer is not a problem at all.
