An Update on Soul Mart (Patreon)

Hey guys,

It’s been a while since we’ve talked about Soul Mart, our upcoming original anime series. We launched the announcement trailer at Anime Expo 2025, and have had our heads down working on it for the last year, with no additional updates to show.

So what happened? Well, we underestimated how long it would take to get the production contracts signed. Despite announcing the trailer and our partnership with Kadokawa to produce the pilot, we have been working for nearly the entire year on just getting all the paperwork in place in order to have the studio start working on it. In that time, I’ve been writing and rewriting the script, to make sure it’s something I can really be proud about bringing to you guys.

The good news is that as of June, the contracts have been signed and we’ve begun production on Soul Mart. We’re starting back at the beginning, with new art direction and some incredibly cool new character designs, and we’ve already started animating some early scenes.

The plan right now is for a pilot release in 2027. We have lots of cool things coming your way in the meantime, and that includes some cool (and exclusive) sneak peeks.

Updating our Patreon Rewards

As we work more on Soul Mart, we’ll begin to release behind the scenes content to you, our incredible Patreon supporters. Starting next month, our Apprentice Goo tier will begin to wind down the monthly Blender asset release, and that tier will instead become the new home of all our Soul Mart behind the scenes content. The tier price will remain the same, all other rewards and access will remain the same - and we may still even release the occasional asset pack when we have them - but as we shift our focus onto Soul Mart, we hope that the community will be excited to shift focus with us.

These BTS posts will not be on a schedule the way the rest of our content is. We want to take the time to get everything right, which means slower and more sporadic glimpses behind the curtain.

All that is to say, thank you for continuing to support me and the whole DillonGoo Studios crew this past year. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on.
