GUYS I AM SOOO HAPPY TO BINGE THIS AFTER WORK 😭😭 bless

Athina

I’m at work now! So excited to watch this when I get home🙌🏼

Lukash

im going to cry

Courage

Now you've reached this point it's clear to see how outclassed sasuke truly was in his fight with Itachi and how far he has to go. Man was blind, fatally ill and trying to bait and seal orochimaru all while controlling the pace of the fight to make sure a desired outcome was reached. Bro choreographed the fight for sasuke to win and sasuke still couldn't pull it off

지원

let's go

Quvex

LETS F GOOOOOOOOOOO

Rony

Eren sacrificed everyone else to save his people,Itachi sacrificed his people to save everyone else.now you guys gotta watch Code geass👀

userrr123

remember, their dad fugaku was the mastermind behind the coup so realistically, leaving with his parents would have never been an option even if itachi had that choice. and also, we need to remember itachi was around 13 when all of this happened so i don’t think there was much else he could do. dont worry though, a lot of your questions will be answered!!

Coils

Carlie is a real empath being sad for my goat

Killer Queen

This arc is so good, so many episodes literally back to back with fights, reveals, lore drops and sadness. Peak Shippuden experience

syazwan sufi

whatttt, cant believe we have come this far with naruto, more peak coming non stop soon 🔥

Łukasz Wazowski

Godd 2 more hours of work and I grt to see these episodes

HBelmont67

Cyberpunk Edgerunners is back with season two!

mat sommer

i think you guys are right where you should be after watching these lol hold on to your seats this anime gets even better yet!

Worker

Don’t worry ya’ll, there’s still plenty of story to tell!👌

MariaP

Yes, Itachi's story is not over yet and you will learn more. In the end he was in a terrible situation where he did not have a good choice and he did what he thought was a " lesser evil" both for Saskue and for the village. It is so crazy that he was only 13-14 years old when he was put in this position.

Mitch

Symbolism hits hard

Tommy

Spartan and Pudgey was spot on 💯

MrWell

Really good discussion at the end there and very understandable about how you feel about Itachi after all those episodes. Spoiler-free take: In my honest opinion, I don't think it was necessarily to make the viewers feel emotion about Itachi when there were so many unanswered questions in the earlier iterations, not to mention how little we had of him previously. The reveal, per se, I think is more targeted this time towards shocking Sasuke. Why? From previous eps, Itachi said that Sasuke has to kill his best friend to awaken his Sharingan further. But how did Kakashi awaken the Mangekyo on his own? This is still unanswered as to watching these episodes. Common sense dictates that this isn't a cut and dry method, but we can chalk it up to deep emotional trauma at this point. Rewatching these episodes with you guys now, I suddenly realize that I think Tobi knew this perfectly as well. If he didn't info-dump Sasuke about the truth with Itachi, then Sasuke wouldn't be able to awaken the Mangekyo. He hated Itachi so much that his death would not feel like trauma, but rather a victory. Until Tobi told him all those things. Before Naruto was even in the picture, his first best friend was his very own brother. Itachi. I feel like Tobi forced him to acknowledge it in these episodes

Grace

Itatchi loved the leaf village and more importantly sasuke. He did his best to bring strength out of him, but sasuke chose his own path. He wanted sasuke strong. And with the “love” uchiha’s hold it was beautifully done that sasuke chose the path he did. However, I don’t think itachi predicted how strong sasukes abilities/love and hatred was. If that makes sense…

Clement Liaw

The bit where the title was at the top instead was HILARIOUS. Ange's face was priceless.

PeachBrune

Itachi is the goat for a reason

Mobi_fiufiu

at this point we can think about what an absolute unit itachi was power wise, he was almost dead by ilness, he was pretty much blind, on strong medicines just to hold him alive a bit longer and he still had to hold up, he still archived everything what he wanted in this fight and he LET sasuke kill him

Lukash

i cried first time ive seen it and on my every rewatch, including now as well :D But there is nothing broken with you if you didnt feel the same way, more reactors ive seen feel the same as you guys, for some people its just too sudden i think. Also, regarding some points you guys made, you have to remember that Itachi wasnt just following orders, he was in his mind preventing a world war and that was the second highest priority, running was not an option, Madara briefly mentioned that people were trying to prevent the conflict, even third hokage but things were escalating too quickly. So yeah Itachi coudnt just take his family out and run if it was his Dad who was leading the Coup, and Itachi drawing a line with Sasuke makes sense in my mind because as they said, Sasuke was innocent and not aware of anything, he wasnt a traitor yet in Leafs eyes, altho as Madara implied with Danzo comment, Sasuke was never really safe.

Kyriske

I’ve been waiting for this! I have a couple of thoughts and comments to share, without spoiling anything: 1. The Itachi reveal is one of my favorite twists in Naruto - and in anime in general. Tbh, I don’t really expect reactors to get emotional over the reveal. I usually expect more shock, contemplation, and that moment of realization when they start connecting the dots and seeing how everything ties together. So your reaction was pretty much what I expected, and I loved it! 2. As discussed in the Patreon chat, Itachi is a pretty polarizing character in the community. But I want to point out two things: First, Itachi was only 13 when the Uchiha massacre happened. Second, these characters live in a brutal ninja world, so I think we should keep that in mind when judging their actions rather than applying the moral standards of our own world. I think many people often get caught up in whether Itachi was right or wrong instead of taking the time to understand the nuance and complexity of his situation, so I'm really glad that you have all these questions still lingering in your head. 3. There were actually quite a few hints about Itachi’s motives in OG Naruto when he was first introduced, which many people may have forgotten or simply not noticed. Here are a few examples: - After Itachi put Kakashi under Tsukuyomi, Kakashi wondered why Itachi hadn’t killed him, even though he clearly could have. At the same time, Itachi also subtly revealed to Kakashi what the Akatsuki was after. - When Itachi and Kisame fled from Jiraiya, Kisame asked Itachi why they had to run away and implied that, knowing Itachi, he should have been able to handle the situation. - This last one might be a bit of a stretch, but Itachi subjected Kakashi to 72 hours of Tsukuyomi, whereas he used it on Sasuke for only 24 hours. I remember thinking, “Oh, he’s going easy on Sasuke,” when I first watched that scene.

Itachi

I felt pretty much the same way as you guys when I first reached this point in the story. But things will begin to clear up as more is revealed. To give my perspective on some of your questions: if Sasuke died I'm sure it would've destroyed Itachi, but he didn't have much of a choice. He couldn't tell Sasuke the truth, because he didn't want him to resent the village. Pretending to be the bad guy was the only way to protect both Sasuke and the Leaf village, while at the same time motivating Sasuke to get stronger. And with regards to Itachi being able to kill his mother and father but not his brother, I think Sasuke being too young to know about the resentment that the Uchihas had against the village played a role in the higher ups allowing him to live. That resentment would've remained if Itachi's parents weren't killed, and that would've resulted in another coup in the future, hence Itachi's parents had to go. I think the big thing here is that the Uchihas couldn't be reasoned with, so Itachi really had no choice. It was either he massacres his clan or a full-scale war breaks out. And poor Itachi had to shoulder that entire burden on himself :(

NamelessKing

THIS IS NOT A SPOILER DATA BOOK INFORMATIONEN Carly, if you’re wondering about Itachi’s girlfriend, Izumi, he used Tsukuyomi to let her experience an entire lifetime with him before she died. In that illusion, they fell in love, got married, had children, and grew old together. Although only a moment passed in reality, she experienced decades of happiness by his side. He gave her the life they could never have together, showing just how deeply he cared for her.

Martina

really enjoyed the discussion!

Martina

I think it definitely hits harder on a rewatch

Lukash

it sure does, i was lucky that itachi was my favorite character before anything was really revealed, he left very strong impression on me during OG and i was a very edgy child :D

The TIGE

You have specials episodes on Itachi's life in 177 if it can cheers you up, you will have allll his life

lord aang

It really is one of those you have to keep watching scenarios. You are far from done with Itachi

Floop

Im def in the minority preferring Itachi having been evil ^^'

CaptainLevi

Itachi will not take on the elders because that's what his father and other uchiha were plotting to do . he's trying to protect the village. Also his father is mastermind behind this, he can't escape with his family. Everything will make sense as you go on. cheers love the reaction as always

.

Studio perriot putting the episode title at the top

Diego Rodriguez

I think you had the right reaction. I always think the episode is ment to be sad more for sasuke than for itachi

Sonicluis

It’s sad that you guys didn’t really understand the moment or itachi. I also don’t want to explain anything and hope you guys figure it out.

Argent6

yeah and if Itachi and the rest of the Uchiha did try to take on the Leaf they would be annihilated

Łukasz Wazowski

I mean itachi's reason to slaughter the clan was to protect the leaf village so if Sasuke died at some point in the story it still wouldn't be for nothing

Dune

Ange you hit it on the head. We got the story from a guy who hates the leaf and wants sasuke on his side so we can't accept it being the full and true story and it's clear to us the viewer there has to be more. The main truth though is itachi is a tragic hero. He knew war was inevitable one way or another. Either the uchiha rebelled or madara attacked the village. Itachi killing everybody at least guarantees that the least amount of people die and he can possibly negotiate for his brother as long as the truth never comes out. Even to this day I don't see any other way it couldve been avoided. Might've been too late to try and have talks with the whole clan. That aside there's so many more twists and turns coming i cant wait for you guys to see and hear your thoughts on.

Abinamikaze

Its gonna hit hard, when the dialogue "*** *** you always"

Argent6

57:09 the translation here is off, Itachi's last words are "Sorry Sasuke, this is the last time."

J-or-Dan

The way i saw it is you are supposed to be conflicted and questioning everything just like sasuke is and then the reveal of Taka's mission to destroy the leaf is meant to twist it even further because you can understand where sasuke is coming from but is that ok or should he do what itachi set him up to do and just return as a village hero for killing him

League of Devine

NO SPOILERS Don't worry, you continuously get more information illuminated about the situation through the rest of the show. Including some filler/anime-only canon. I would highly recommend watching at some point, even if you don't react to it. I'm sure we can provide EP numbers when you get to an appropriate point in the story.

guilherme mcdw

idk if you guys noticed, but Madara's voice actor is the same as Askeladd's.

Carlin James

Carlie had me crying "Come find me AND KILL ME" - also this show is so peak. Imagine watching it for the first time without the comments or the community guiding you through the episodes. Had no idea what to expect every episode great reaction as always guys!

Spiral Lightning Tech

Sakura is an absolute genius here. She was able to figure out that Tobi can teleport away parts of his body. Clearly such an underrated character man. The more I rewatch Naruto, the more I fall in love with her 😍

Jamie McConnel

The dub for his voice change is way better

Brandon Jett

My favorite backstory/reveal of this series! so great Itachi the GOAT!! as for your feelings about Itachi at the end, i feel Kishimoto meant to have this moment feel jarring and leave people feeling unsure of how they feel towards Itachi. I think you are meant to empathize with Sasuke in how he doesnt know how to feel after hearing the truth about Itachi as well.

.

Honestly I was a little caught off guard with the second discussion at the end. I didn’t see anything wrong with your reaction, I didn’t cry either… and that’s not cause I don’t cry, chojis fake death broke me on my first watch lmaoo. I remember feeling shock and just really bad for both sasuke and itachi. My bigger reaction came from seeing sasuke’s mangekyo and his new goal of destroying the leaf. Definitely don’t think it’s supposed to be this big cathartic moment but this show is exceptional at that kind of stuff so I understand why perhaps you expected that

Jonny

Your thoughts on Itachi are perfectly reasonable. One thing with Naruto, is that the show tends to answer your questions. So whatever doubts you have or answers you need will present itself in some way or form later. But I get it. 3 episodes ago Itachi said he wanted to be a Super Uchiha basically and now he is a sympathetic antihero of sorts. It's a sudden shift. But trust in the writinh process lol

SomeChosen One

Personally i felt more shocked than sad for sure, pretty much the same as you ahah, sad for sasuke, imagine you had only one goal in your whole life, you achieve it and it was all a lie, as you said in the discussion his world has completly changed

Gyt

23:22 Sasuke's Amaterasu on Madara from Itachi's ocular power was just a 1 time thing and Sasuke awakened his own at the end

Duncan Cofell

I alway's liked Kisame's reaction. Legit decided to take some PTO after his partner died :\. We don't get a ton of insight into their relationship, but they definitely respected each other.

Khoi Pham

If Itachi went against those 3, I'm pretty sure the Hidden Leaf >< Uchiha is on another level of hatred, it would be exactly what his dad want. I think it was never a thing that Itachi is flawless and completely innocent.

ekksfactor213

You always know it's serious when Tobi's voice switches from tenor to bass

mcfly

11 episodes must've taken a toll

mcfly

peak

Krishna N

I don't think to awaken mangekyou it just have to be ur "best friend". It should be someone very close to yu.

Decaf

I think this is one of those things I get conflicted when I try to see other aspects or visualize what’s been told. It’s very sad if you are Sasuke, but if you look at the whole situation with cold, levelheaded adult’s eye it can easily become 🤔

Jay rellim

yall didnt like itachi before even as a villain? even before this reveal tons of ppl liked him as a villain bc he was a master aura farmer and seemed like this badass prodigy shrouded in mystery haha. like however badass and crazy orochimaru was, he couldnt hold a candle to itachi in a fight. deidara would likely still get 2-3 tapped and not drain itachi nearly as much as he drained sasuke, etc. similar for pain, ppl liked him just because "he's him" (aka another strong af aura farmer). usually that's reason enough for protagonists lol so surprised it's not the same for antagonists

Big Tex

I said it on the first episode and we are getting closer but they still do not know pain (lol sorry)

Yashu

Killing the elders wouldn't do anything. If he did that the Uchiha's rebellion would still happen and that's exactly what Itachi wanted to prevent. I genuinely don't think there's antyhing else that could be done to prevent a war, other then eliminating the blood thirsty clan

Yashu

Btw you haven't shared your thoughts on what Sasuke said at the end, that he want's to destroy the Leaf for what they made Itachi do. I wonder where you stand here

Jade

I didn't feel that deep emotionally either cuz I knew that itachi was liked by the fandom and there's more to him and also the statement of his in Naruto that he killed his clan to test his powers was the biggest bs I ever heard so I knew he ain't all bad that the story was making him to be, I've seen some reactors balling their eyes and some with the shock and confused reaction and I and I believe majority of the viewers including you had the latter reaction

🪐

your guys reaction makes perfect sense. Itachi’s truth is genuinely one of the biggest plot twists in the series. I remember feeling more shocked than sad when I first found out. It’s not something you immediately know how to react to because it completely changes the way you see everything that came before it.

Alec Raatz

Definitely ok to not feel anything. It's meant to be like this for now. Naruto is infamous for random lore drops super late into the series at random times. Also, Totally ok with you guys not talking as much! Just means your locked in

Tomas Lepier

What's even sadder about Itachi's life is that he was only around 13-14 years old during the Uchiha clan massacre (he sure doesn't look like it in the anime, but let's not forget those 14-year-old Sound Four ninja from the Sasuke Retrieval Arc in the OG series).

Argent6

lmao Ange fell for the anklebreak

Kanza

Love that y'all had such a deep discussion around Itachi. Nothing wrong with your takes!

ekksfactor213

In case the image quality wasn't clear in the last scene of 141 when Carlie was asking "what's that", that was Sasuke showing his version of the Mangekyou for the first time. He awakened it that scene once all the grief and realization hit him

Original

that audio swap blew my fucing ears out OMG hahahaha

CaptainLevi

this series hits harder and makes everything more sense every time u rewatch

Alejø

Itachi's quote while fighting sasuke : "Each of us lives, dependent and bound by our individual knowledge and our awareness. All that is what we call 'reality.' However, both knowledge and awareness are equivocal. One's reality might be another's illusion. We all live inside our own fantasies.” -He really was talking to us and sasuke we just didn't know at the time. His question to Sasuke right after that quote "How much can you see with that Sharingan?" was not in reference to genjutsu but more so the carefully crafted illusion that itachi presented as his life.

Alejø

Another thing that kills me is how itachi would always say "sorry sasuke, some other time" after doing the forehead tap to sasuke, always postponing spending time with him. In his final moments knowing he's out of time all he can do is apologize as he does the gesture "Sorry Sasuke, this is it" -Also not so fun facts, Itachi was only 13 when he was forced to exterminate the Uchiha, and he was only 21 at the time of his death.

Alejø

Welp, between this and Jiraya I'm a mess.

Kathryn B

Itachi having anime cancer and still beating Sasuke while trying to lose on purpose is legendary

BFMxAngelo

Bee waiting for this!!! I cant wait for the next episodes 🔥🔥🔥 peak after peak

Anthony

The itachi retcon is among my least favorite things outta the whole series for some reason lol

Char

Your current views on Itachi are fair. Even as a naruto superfan I wouldn't say the series is beyond critical reproach, though Itachi may get even more context further in the series. I suppose in one sense the purpose of a reaction series is for people who have already watched the series once to critically reexamine the series through the eyes of a person who has never watched the series. The audiences' view on Itachi changes a lot over the course of watching Naruto, the reaction audience which has the view one has at the end of the series can forget what their own view on Itachi was halfway through the series. The reaction series allows reexamination of the "halfway view". It will be interesting to see if, when, and how your views on Itachi continue to develop.

Rodney McDuffie

There’s nothing wrong with how you feel right now about Itachi, it makes sense

Brundy K

Also have to remember Itachi was a teenager when he had to take all this on.

sCaR

You see in the end Sasuke awakened his Mangekyou Sharingan after learning the truth about his brother.. all this time we thought he should kill his closest friend (Naruto) to get it. but the impact of him finding out that the brother he hated his whole life was actually protecting him all along, and he ended up killing him. That alone was enough for Sasuke to awaken it. Absolute cinema.

Gamerunner15

Honestly, I get more emotional about Itachi on my rewatches than I did in my original viewing. I think the more you know and understand about Itachi the more emotional it is, and the first time you watch it you're still processing just who he is. I think feeling for Sasuke is the crucial element here.

Ultimate Winner

Itachi is incredibly strong. But he is not invincible. IMO Itachi now is not the same strength as Itachi back then when he killed the whole clan. Also Itachi loved the village, the 2 elders + Danzo despite their ways at the time was needed for maintaining the peace. All 3 worked under 3rd Hokage and helped him. Killing them would cause chaos in the village and other villages would try to defeat Leaf. The pt of them working 3rd Hokage is Hiruzen is too nice. Being kind/peaceful doesnt stop wars unfortunately. In gov’t/village, you need people to oppose or give a diff opinion. IMO that is why. Ultimately Itachi decided protecting Leaf’s peace completely outweigh the clan. Only exception was Sasuke.

Ultimate Winner

Also might be me. But if Itachi didnt kill his family, it would make his sacrifice/story boring. Itachi is tragic figure cause while he is kind, he had resolve to become hero without the recognition. My favorite way to describe Itachi is kind, but brutal.

Soph Li

the fact that in german sub and in english dub, itachi said ''forgive me, Sasuke'' and not ''i'm sorry'', hurt so much more

Dendro

Are we getting 1 less episode reaction of Naruto this week?

Lord Harambe

I don’t think Shippuden’s title are spoilery tho

Howell

You can try to think of it this way -- the same way you guys got the information dumped on you by these episodes is the same way Sasuke got the information dumped on him by Madara. It was a whole lot in such a short span of time, exactly as Spartan said to you Ange. You guys did so great in articulating yourselves despite all of the confusion and the information dump. Loved the reaction!

Nilton Felix

I have a hot take and I'm just gonna throw in here... It's just a personal opinion but I'm not too crazy about Itachi's storyline. Like, I get it... he didn't want to start a war with other nations but instead of that, he becomes a lapdog of Danzo, the Hokage and the two elders?? To the extent of killing all of his family and friends??? Hell no man. "ah but the Uchihas were planning a Coup" Well, you're an Uchiha... JOIN THEM! I think he's exactly like Garp from One Piece in this aspect, he chose his job instead of his family, I can't like this dude. And I know everyone will hate me for saying all that, but I'm sorry, it's just the way I see it. He's too reckless, Sasuke could have died a thousand times as he was watching the sky with Kisame for fckn years! He did an wonderful sacrifice for a lot of innocent ppl but Idk, things could have been more simple. Loved the video guys! And I gotta say, this arc just gets better and better

Matthew Ostovitz

This is not "end game" Naruto yet. Not even close. But I think we are coming up on the half-way point fairly soon.

Gthousand

Sorry Sasuke, next time... Sorry Sasuke, there won't be a next time...

Shayan Ziaee

you should pay more attention to kakashi and the masked man. details matter

Sudirf

This got so long and since I end up posting it when I click enter, this will be a chunk of text, oops. TLDR; I love Itachi. I would kill for him. :)) As someone who's been a solid Itachi simp in your comment sections, I don't blame you at all for not feeling as intensely. I've watched him since I was 9 years old, so I'm a proper traumatised Itachi glazer. I've watched his death too many times, and the day the manga chapters were released... I was there. The confusion is natural, and I just want to say (without confirming or debunking anything) that you guys saying Itachi's story isn't over is somewhat true. Because like you also said, his story in these episodes were told by an untrusted narrative. We are seeing it from Tobi's pov and if I were to sit here pretending i don't know anything, I would come to the conclusion that Tobi would alter the story to fit his agenda. What I think is the most heartbreaking part of Itachi is that: from the age of 4 he had witnessed war, death and pain. A four year old child is at an age where their brain is developed enough that strong emotions and experiences can alter their cognitive state. He was so heavily affected by the war, and no matter how intelligent Itachi is, trauma can make even the most rational mind make bad decisions. A child who only sought peace, surrounded by people wanting the opposite. He was a tool, used and broken by the society and politics. And eventually he started to believe so too. He came to the conclusion that his life is worth less and so if he could sacrifice himself that would be enough. However, his love for Sasuke is what I believe is the biggest part of his character. Because yes, he can be that simple that he loves his younger brother THAT much. If it was a choice made purely based on Sasuke being an innocent child, then why did he kill the innocent members of Uchiha Clan? I actually don't remember if all of this is answered later at all or when. I am typing this based solely on what we've learned so far in the show and the emotions and theories I had when I first watched/read this revalations.

AzurionD

One thing you’ll start to realize from this point onward in Shippuden is that every character, and I literally mean EVERY character is complex and layered. At times, it will almost feel like there’s no true protagonist or antagonist. Zabuza was one of the first characters like this, that made you question how you really feel about someone. Then you have Gaara, Orochimaru, Itachi, and many others you’ll learn more of and meet along the way. That’s why I think you’re feeling the way you described during the commentary. Just keep this in mind.

Fubar

You weren't supposed to cry for Itachi don't worry. It was sad because we were right there with Sasuke being deceived the whole time and we had our own beliefs that all got shattered in a beautiful way. Our boy Sasuke crying is definitely hard to watch and is definitely the right place to feel sad for. Itachi the goat.

rambo

In regards to what Itachi could have done it was brief but it says that the 3rd hokage was attempting to prevent the coup with peaceful talks but it was to late(As per Tobi). Also the main justification for Itachi to keep his brother alive and foster that hatred was so that this very situation would happen. Where Sasuke could not only embody a version of the Uchiha that was good and righteous but also become a hero that saved the leaf. This is also why he wanted to prevent Tobi/Madara from talking to Sasuke because he knew that that mentality would then shift to the village. Itachi truly was fine with looking like a villain to everyone while actually being the selfless hero( based on what Tobi/Madara has told us)

Marco Filipe Pinto

Itachi was allowed to spare sasuke because he was the few people that meant alot to itachi and werent involved with the coup. sasuke was completly innocent and clueless. Everyone else either knew about the coup or was involved in it. Hiruzen allowed sasuke to be spared because Itachi made himself look guilty and so wouldnt create any resentment in sasuke, the uchiha clan would endure and a war would be avoided. Had it been anyone else they could plot revenge.

Guts

Indeed Itachi is still a mass murder of whole families though. Let's not forget that. I like this writing but also don't like it at the same time. It's definitely not super elegant writing to just drop a massive exposition episode instead of getting it bit by bit. In general it's always best to show how things unfold instead of just telling it. I also think the whole scenario that leads to this feels quite forced just for the purpose of this twist. Can't think too much about some things in shows, Naruto being a prime example of this, or you will be plugging plot holes and do mental gymnastics to explain extremely convenient coincidences left and right. Itachi is not evil, but even if he thought that he was doing the right thing, when he killed his people and tortured his brother using Tsukuyomi, I would not ever go and call him a hero. A broken child is what he was at best and a manipulated psychopath at worst (psychopaths do lack very much in the empathy department which may have been what allowed him to kill his own family, girlfriend and others). His tragic circumstances explain how he got there. They don't necessarily explain every aspect of his psychological makeup, and they certainly don't absolve him of what he did.

Guts

It seems strange that they only show Madara's brother without his eyes. Why not exchange eyes with his brother? Did Madara keep his previous eyes as a spare? 😂

Quita.J

No one should hate you but they can definitely disagree. I personally love Garp and understand Itachi's choice. You don't have to agree with the choices and actions of your family, even if you love them dearly. Why join a coupe just because they want to throw one if that's against your morals and beliefs? Garp didn't choose his job, he chose his belief system, the same one he's had all those years that he literally tried to beat the right morals into his boys so that they never ended up in the position they inevitably ended up in. I always liken it to the scenario of the police chief's son committing a horrible crime and the chief finding every way he can to make sure he isn't punished just because he's his son. In real life the majority of us would shun that, but in anime because it's our favorite characters that we know aren't bad guys even though they chose a path that is considered bad, we want exceptions made for them. I get it, but I also understand the characters that stand on their own and up for their own belief systems because it defines who they are.

Guts

Itachi is a villain. Ask any of the hundreds of families that he killed. The best villains think they do the right thing, have good intentions, and make the viewer question their own beliefs.

Guts

You mean they didn't understand parts of the story? I feel like they got the gist of it.

Rony

Answering that would be a spoiler
