2026-09-27 06:00 A really enjoyable, over the top, guilty pleasure movie.... as many Nic Cage movies tend to be. Stellar cast. But Steve Buscemi easily steals the movie. Who is somehow both scary and then amusingly likable - at least once you can breath again after *that* poolside scene.

Oh this is classic 90's popcorn flick. It's crazy and out there, but it's FUN. It also has a lot of heart buried beneath it. I root for the characters in these older movies whereas the newer ones half the time I don't care if they live or die. Definitely interested to see what you both think of it.

Amazing cast, insanely over the top action, and a lot of fun. 😊

I like your Retro background for this. Very fun reaction!

Thank you for picking this one! I've seen it so many times that Cyrus the Virus little jingle randomly gets stuck in my head even though I haven't watched this in over 10 years, lol. Lots of familiar faces, a couple of good laughs, and the good guy wins and gets his girls.

Good ole' fashioned 90s action flick...sometimes you just gotta turn off the ole brain and let it fly...though Nic Cage's Alabama accent is probably the worst Bama accent since Forrest Gump... Yeah, and that song...pretty sure my mom had it on her Napster playlist...right next to My Heart Will Go On...

"How Do I Live" was written for a 14 year old LeAnn Rimes and she recorded it first. Movie producers felt like she sounded too young so they got Trisha Yearwood to record another version. Her version is featured in the film and she won a Grammy for it. LeAnn Rimes version became the massive pop single that got all the radio air time. It stayed on the Billboard Top 100 for over a year. It peaked at #2 but it was crowned the #1 song of the 90s by Billboard.

The guy who reads the letter from Poe played a headhunter in Riddick - maybe you know him from there.

AnGeLuS

Nothing featuring Riddick has been watched here yet.

The Music is so good. Cyrus's theme. So Good.

Rob nailing the 3 Lost actors and knowing it was Ana Lucia's mom in about 3 frames 👍 Also I forgot how cornball some of this movie was. The electric guitar kicking in after explosions and one liners had me cracking up.

If you guys loved this movie, you will adore The Rock from 1996; besides Nicholas Cage, it also has Mr. Bond himself ...Sean Connery.

Terri

Face/Off too if they haven't seen that. I forget if they watched it or not.

Gelu Popescu

Face/Off is another fun movie from the 90 s, i loved it back in the day, I'm they will love it too.

Keyuana Gray

I agree, Face/off and The Rock are both a must. Prime 90's action
