Bad Bunny was definitely pretty goofy in 2018. Idk if goofy is the right word, but he was super out there with his fashion and style and lyrical content, so much so that he became the poster child for older generations of what was “wrong” with society and culture and the younger generations. Think of how conservative-minded parents and politicians in the early 2000’s made Eminem a scapegoat for anything they didn’t like about their children’s generation and interests. There are lots of quotes and clips of stodgy older people making fun of him or blaming him for whatever thing they viewed as degenerate.

He’s a huge wrestling fan! There’s a song on one of his 2020 albums called “Booker T” and he was actually in a bunch of WWE stuff in 2021-2023 including a tag team match in Wrestlemania 37, so you’ll have to add that to your list for a future Patreon video, maybe for when we eventually get to El Último Tour del Mundo.

I’m admittedly not a huge music video guy so this was my first time watching these too. One thing that stands out to me is while you get a lot of the standard rap video tropes (women, clubs, jewelry, parties) I think it’s cool that he includes a wide variety of people in his videos. There are men and women of different shapes, sizes, ages, body types, disabilities, etc. in a way that doesn’t feel performative or forced.

I think most of your opinions are valid regarding Benito's style of music and music video ideas and themes but you are looking into it with the eyes of a 2026 DTFM.... you gotta remember that Bad Bunny in 2017/18 was just a young rapper from Puerto Rico who was breaking through the industry and im sure he had no fkn idea that he would eventually become Benito Martinez Ocasio that ended up performing in the super bowl. So go easy on him lol ...As an early Bad Bunny fan, this was the best shit ever to me. For a long time Reggaeton had died and here comes Bad Bunny breaking all barriers of the genre to bring something new and fresh to the table.

Also I'd like to point out certain things that Bad Bunny was doing that later in DTMF Benito would escalate to a more consious rapper type of way are: La Casita, the Little House, the pink house where the old man (Old Benito) lives is pink, in Caro the house is pink, at the end of Estuviesemos Juntos, the old man remembers his wife in the porch of a pink house. Also in Caro, he brings out all types of people in the walk way, A bigger woman, an old woman, a girl with down syndrome, etc., goes to show that Bad Bunny was already a consious rapper, because NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE in the genre would have dared to do that, even on Solo de Mi, the girl on the video is trans, so for the time in which Bad Bunny was breaking through this was a big thing, which brought a lot of hate and discomfort from lots of Latinos that hated his music, his style and overall message, but im very glad he chosed to do this because it goes to show how raw and consious he was even at a young age. I'd also like to give props to his early music video director Fernando Lugo who really carried Bad Bunny's music videos, not including "Ni Bien Ni Mal" which was directed by the GOAT director Jessie Terrero (im sure all the budget went into that one music video). Overall, im glad Bad Bunny stayed true to himself in every music video after that, delivering subtle messages of inclusivity, individualism and just a message to be youself and value who you are. Having said that, there is a pre- 100xPRE Bad Bunny who was even wilder, since he was only allowed to make features due to an early scuffle with his first label who wanted to milk his talent and use him for money without realizing the treasure they had in their hands, even so those songs that he made before this album were fkn amazing and carried the genre to what it is today, even though today BENITO is the genre. lol

Well said!! 👏🏼 this album is like a skeleton key for the rest of his discography. If you take the best parts of his other albums, you can always come back to X100PRE and find something that shows you it was there from the beginning, even if it’s not fully developed or perfect in this album.
