Patreon Community Spotlight: Jura & The Alps - 20 New Field Recordings (Patreon)

For the latest Community Spotlight, we’re featuring Jura & The Alps, a collection of 20 immersive field recordings generously shared with our community by Hrímr. Drawn from various locations across Switzerland and France, this set captures a vivid sense of place through creaking trees, forest birds, mountain lakes, ponds, streams, rainfall, snowstorms, and even waves beating against thick layers of ice. There is a beautiful ruggedness running through these recordings, something cold, spacious, and deeply atmospheric that makes them feel ready-made for ambient, drone, dark ambient, and cinematic work.

What makes this collection especially compelling is the range of textures and environments inside it. You can hear the intimacy of leaves in the wind and small runlets, then step into wider alpine spaces filled with storm, water, distance, and motion. These are high quality recordings captured by the artist himself, and they offer so much inspiration for worldbuilding, layering, transitions, and adding a genuine sense of environment to your music. Huge thanks to Hrímr for once again sharing such evocative material with generosity and care.

Our Patreon Community Spotlight is a feature where we highlight members of our Patreon community by showcasing their creative talents and gifts. It’s one of the ways we celebrate the incredible artistry within this space and share it with the wider community.

Cheers and enjoy!
