Hey guys!!

Third cut here, but I really think I got it perfect, and most of the changes that I made were cosmetic stuff based upon your direct Patron feedback. Visually, I think this is by far the prettiest that doc that Channel 5 is ever made, but maybe I'm just a sucker for southwestern landscapes. Either way, hope you guys dig this one and thanks SO much for the notes. This doc (along with the Borders pilot!!!) will drop sometime next week and drive subs to C5.NOW. To be honest, our ultimate goal is to totally stop taking any external ad money to promote non-C5 products and services and I think the C5.NOW + Patreon support pipeline may bring us closer to that dream sooner than we think.

Hope you guys like this episode. More soon!!

Amazing job sir

Struck throughout by how brilliant all of these people are. Kudos to the Diné education system it clearly works better than the colonizer one.

I missed the first cut with the audio (levels?) issue, but i thought the second was pretty damn good... how's this one compare? Just updating editing or any content changes?

This is amazing, thank you Andrew and Channel 5. I want to know WHY NAVAJO and not other native languages?! How much of the "success" (if you can call it that) of reviving the Navajo language is because it got some mainstream publicity via the Navajo code talkers? How much is because of the size of the Navajo nation? Other factors?

Erika Voigts

Great reporting.. Thanks for sharing this with us.

This is one of my fav channel 5 vids in a while. I really appreciate the deep dives on American cultures we don’t hear a lot about. I found this very hopeful and uplifting

Kaleb Banks

Andrew hittin every MGS talking point! 📦 🐍❗

Jonas Le Loup

I have to say, this may be my favorite doc of yours. I had a fascination for Navajo culture for many years and seeing it being preserved in such a way is just beautiful, especially in current times with the eroding identity and affiliation (and rise of fascist ideology) in the western countries. This gives hope.

Jake

Another one! Ty AC!

The trend of white/euro colonisation being swiftly followed by abusive boarding schools and a systemic extraction of indigenous culture and identity is genuinely revolting. There are so many huge issues in the world right now but C5 spotlighting grassroot, cultural programs and revivals is so valuable and important. Please keep doing all the things you're doing C5

Kade Griffith

Loved this, thanks for reporting on this!

Gregg

Natives never lose the long game.

Wyatt Jordan

If you're interested in covering the blackfeet language you should connect with Robert Hall on the blackfeet rez! He's a blackfeet language teacher in Browning!

Sküch

Are you still doing one on the gullah geechee language? Been looking forward to it

Jason Jablonski

Not gonna see this reporting on CBS or CNN that is for sure. Keep up the good work!
