The fact I can sit here completely captivated by 6 people conversing in a room for 50 minutes (episode 6) is really a testament to how well this show is made. Not only that, but it's only 5 shots that make up the entire episode, that's absolutely insane. Everything from the directing, the dialogue, the acting, it's seriously top class

Asia, if you think you saw a face, you most likely did at some point. I don't know if anybody has mentioned it, but the background is full of ghosts hidden all over the place. That scene where you can see Nell as bent neck lady in the group shot at the funeral home...they hung on that shot for like 30 seconds and it took somebody pointing it out to me that she was standing there. That whole episode is brilliantly filmed. There are certain shots that are like 10 minutes long or whatever without cutting and they had to spin the camera around and replace all of the actors and stuff. It could be one of the best episodes of television ever done.

Yes, there is a face there in that scene when the dad is working on the mold. The whole series is full of ghosts in the background of each episode.... you have to look to see them, but you catch them occasionally by accident if you watch the background.

You all are really seeing the "hidden" ghosts now. There's ~ 80 ghosts in the series. I find new ones each time I rewatch. BJ, I wanted to hug you when Steve and the dad were fighting. (52:00) You looked so sad. I love how you both picked up on the underlying themes of trauma, psychology, and mental health beyond just the haunted house and ghosts. 😉

The long shot in episode 6 was phenomenal! Steve is so disrespectful he gets on my nerves. I get being upset but that’s still your dad. Great episodes!!

Asia, I am so eager to see you watch the next limited series by Flanagan, The Haunting of Bly Manor. 🥰 It's a ghost story, but very different from Hill House, not as scary. My friends who can't watch anything scary can watch Bly Manor. I'm enjoying watching this with you both so much. Thank you!

IMO its just as good as Hill House, but I have always thought the story is one that you'll particularly enjoy. Flanagan's 3 best limited series on Netflix are Hill House, Bly Manor, and Midnight Mass. Midnight Mass is my favorite, but they're all masterpieces.

Ya'll dont ask me why but I had a dream last night that I lived in one of those diubled wides or just a long flat house from the 80s back in the day and I had a bunch of friends over like I used to and every time whe would settle to get cozzied down, Ted Bundy would try and break in and when he couldn't he would tell us that he'd be back later. Thete was nothing spooky I saw before. Weird dark dream. I thought he was in my house hiding upstairs when I woke up. When dreams like this happen I try and force myself back into slumber as to clear my psyche for the day...

I belive it was the director or someone else online who said, each child is a representation of the 5 stages of grief; Steve is denial, Sherily is anger, theo is bargaining, luke is depression and nelly is acceptance. I feel like thats chefs 💋
