Season 2 was greenlit right when the show premiered so it shouldn't be a long wait, my guess is sometime early next year But Poor Maul Though, he's basically lost his entire crew now in Favour of Devon, many times this show he could've fled the Planet but he stayed behind for her, and his team that were loyal to him especially Rook unfortunately paid the price in the end. Oh dear yeah haha Big Bad Vader is here 😱 this isn't gonna go well... 😬😬 I do agree that Vader doesn't need to be in every Star Wars project, but in this show there's a Renegade Sith Lord that's paired with a Jedi Master & Padawan and that's not really something Vader can ignore lol, so I guess it makes sense for this instance that he showed up personally after Marrok reported it to him earlier.

vanessa marashell was asked how she wanted her character to die, and she suggested that her lungs to be ripped out through her mouth via the force. and that’s… exactly what they did 😂 fucking horrifying! off screen of course but still. shame as i quite liked rook. and spybot too, he was like maul’s lil evil support pet. for as much content that vader/anakin has been in, it’s crazy that this is the first time maul and vader have ever properly shared the screen together (unless you count maul almost running little anakin over with his speeder in phantom menace 😂) even in shows they both occupied at the same time; between rebels and especially the clone wars, when anakin was constantly in the thick of things and regularly going against the big baddies of that era, they somehow always managed to narrowly avoid each other. after a certain point it just seemed like creatives were never gonna have them come across each other, for whatever reason. as a lifelong star wars fan, seeing arguably the 2 most iconic villains in the series finally interact felt surreal lol fun fact - in the rebels season 2 finale twilight of the apprentice (where maul enters the show and meets ezra), originally he was going to fight vader in that same episode and die. dave filoni ended up scrapping vader vs maul and decided to keep maul around for season 3, where he died to obi wan instead. i would remiss to not mention that maul has a pretty noteworthy line in that final episode. when pitching for ahsoka and kanan to join him, he made a comment about “not being able to face vader alone”, suggesting that he did fight him previous to what we saw back then.
