May 2026 Newsletter: Well…now what? (Patreon)
Content
Hello Patrons!
It is the end of May and that means it is newsletter time. Let’s get right into it.
Announcements:
ITS HAPPENING!!! My solo show “In All Seriousness” at Gallery Nucleus is in LESS THAN A WEEK!!! It will open on May 30th at 5pm and end June 14th!! If you attend please send me a photo.. Of anything. It would make it feel real to me… And if you go, I hope you enjoy it!! There will be merchandise for sale (not sure what..) and a sketchbook of mine that you can doodle in or sign! It will be phenomenal.
Next month I may open the postcard/physical newsletter tier. I will probably limit it just to see the vibe. That is my goal so look out for that perhaps mid June.
Art & Life:
ART
Well, perhaps I have an art block or perhaps I am actually on a break psychologically. I have completed 99.9% of my duties that NEED to be done for my show and all other business. I am free..
BUT GREAT NEWS! This means I will soon be posting all of my artwork for the show! Certainly some of my show art will become postcards for you all. I can’t wait to show you, it’s so hard to have to hold back art from you guys for months. I have been secretly showing Dormnoodles all of my art for the show just so someone could see it..
I drew a rendered portrait of Hayley Williams just now and it was really fun to do something a bit different than what I’d been doing before. I will post a timelapse of that soon! I think I am in desperate need of an artistic change… I think maybe I will even try to paint like an actual painting in the physical world. Can’t say for sure yet. But I need to do something new!! But that’s not a problem for right now.
PERSONAL LIFE!
It really truly is moving time come the 7th of June. I am painting my whole house!! I need to finish before I go to LA so when I come back I can MOVE MOVE MOVE!! I am so excited. I love moving. This is something unique about me.
Speaking of my trip, do YOU have any recommendations for things to do, places to eat in the wider LA area? Also specifically if anyone knows of good gluten free spots to eat that would be epic. My friend is coming with me and she can’t eat gluten or she’ll blow up. I have two places I want to eat donuts at and that’s about all I got.
I also heard that Garden Grove/Orange County is going to explode or catch fire and leak chemicals everywhere so that’s very scary. I do have family in this very specific area so I hope the less terrible of the two happens.
Lastly, I’m really into a cheddar bagel.
Current Media:
TV/MOVIES
WATCHED HOKUM!!! God I love a scary movie… I watched the previous Damian McCarthy movies and they were all so dang scary!! Oddity and Caveat. I wonder which one I like the most.. Maybe Hokum. Was it terribly scary? No, maybe Caveat was scarier. But I really like the murder mystery of it all or just the mystery and the setting and like what happened with this guy’s mom?? Gosh. I heard Obsession is the movie the kids are all talking about perhaps I gotta watch that too. Maybe at my next scary movie get-together.
I am still watching the Walking Dead but I have also started re-watching The Boys because I completely forgot what has occurred. It felt wrong to go into the new season not remembering anything. I saw a spoiler of something that I shan’t speak of but it's very interesting.. let’s just say that. Guys… I watched the first episode of Punisher last kill or whatever and.. and.. it was so bad… Can anyone relate?? I am afraid to watch more.
My brother Mac is preparing for the digital apocalypse or the end/further corruption of streaming sites because he has started an entire server in my parent’s house and now we have Mac TV which is essentially his own streaming site with totally legally acquired movies, old film scans, and tv shows for the family to watch. He got me Walking Dead, The Boys, and Surfs Up. What else does anyone need?? I think I’m gonna ask him to download Spirit as well. Been needing to watch that again amidst my horse cowboy era. He is also refurbishing his old iPod with music for me which is very cool!!
MUSIC
Since I am going on a roadtrip to see my show, I need approximately 8+ hours of music (16 if we want new music for the way back) so I went on a musical exploration throughout past, present, and future flesh.png tunes. I was listening to it while I was painting my living room today and I was like wow so many bangers who made this playlist?? It was like Chan Radio. We have Mac TV and Chan Radio now. I found the music of Ferkat Al Ard and Hamid El Shaeri and I’m exploring that!
Also, BIG BIG BIG in the Chan musical world is Shakey Graves’ new album “Fondness, Etc.” Shakey Graves is not a genre that I typically enjoy, but for an inexplicable reason I have had a deep obsession with his music since I was in highschool. I listen exclusively to Shakey Graves (besides today) while I paint my house and it is like perfect house-painting music. It makes me feel like I’m a cowboy on a ranch.. John Marston building his house. The album is amazing, my favorite song on it is “No Place to Be.” Yeah idk what he is ever singing about but it touches my soul. Like nobody else can… Also lastly, the song KGB by Adela is really phenomenal.
GAMES
Still playing RDR2.. I am doing something I’ve never done before which is doing the Exotics side missions and I might try to 100% it.. The challenges could be.. Challenging but I am prepared. I think I’m just trying to make it last as long as possible. I’m doing things I’ve never done before. I just discovered the whole area west of Owanjila and got dumped in a graveyard the other day. Life is so incredible! Sometimes I feel like a crazy fan that is too into something for too long whenever I play RDR but like.. I AM. And that's ok. It's a healthy relationship.
I also played this interior design game called Small Spaces and it's very fun but it's kinda hard to zoom in. I also wish there was more clutter. I need an animal crossing amount of furniture and small objects. And it gives me a scary feeling sometimes idk. When I finish my RDR2 playthrough I might play the remastered or whatever pirate assassins creed. My brother said I’d like it.
A Personal Message to YOU
I hope you are having a lovely beginning to summer (or winter). What will be our song of the summer? I’m thinking “Homeland” by Hans Zimmer on the Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (Music From The Original Motion Picture) soundtrack. I hope your June includes some outdoor activities, fruit, and Homeland.
