Books lol (Patreon)

All of my physical research materials for the syndicate arc in SWFTD.  It's been a struggle getting through some of these dry ass books since they're historical nonfiction written decades ago. I know history can be modified or rewritten any time, but I wanted to try reading some stuff that's out of print or hard to find. I just want some general knowledge to help me with idea generation and also help me understand how to capture the vibe of old school gangsters. Just seem like they're built different than their modern counterparts.Something I noticed about a lot of gang stories in manga and even anime is that they sometimes feel vaguely similar. Like inspiration was loosely taken from other fictional media, as opposed to looking outside of the genre of comics and animated shows for context and ideas. I'm hoping these books will help me make the syndicate arc that much cooler. I want these gangsters to be fearsome and give a glimpse into their own inner society and cultural practices, because some of them have interesting rituals and practices unique from the yakuza or the Italian mob. Also it would probably make them sexier too lol can't wait to show some of the character designs I had in mind for some of the gangsters we'll see.
