The world was resolving slowly there under the bright heat of the display lights... She blinks a couple times as shapes and sensation resolve in her mind’s eye. How she got here was a bit unclear, she remembered free moment and then… and then being grabbed, several forms, several creatures, other griffons perhaps, and a surreal process of dreamy magic that was kneading and shifting her body like sculpted clay to fit in someplace snug. Almost pleasantly soothing in a way, holding, forcing, snuggled into herself, until… it felt more like…

Confinement.

Like a dense and unyielding hug from all directions squeezed around her form, cool as though it conducted the ambient temperature of the room around her efficiently down to skin, making her feel more naked and exposed than she would have felt on a normal day wearing nothing at all. A sort of vague undifferentiated numbness counterbalanced the pressure she felt in those supple rigid curves, unable to quite tell where her wings and forelegs and talons and everything else were that wasn’t outright exposed… and she was quite exposed!

In that moment then she tries to move, succeeding only in a slight squirming of her feetpaws and neck, and a twitching pulse of arousal from her vent that was starting to feel like the midst of one of her cycles of heat… troubling, filling her with a buzzing needy warmth. Toes splay and flex, soft feline pads shifting under the bright lights, but the thick pottery encasing most of her form holds fast, and bands both decorative and functional keep her paws properly on display, held to the air and vulnerable. The neck of the vase squeezing like an all too tight collar, she tries to speak out but is met with a foreign object… a HUGE one.

Lodged into her beak.

Heavy, dense, perfectly round and smooth, a ball of clear crystal that is just slightly too big for the space it inhabits. Too big for her to spit out past the walls of her beak, and certainly too big to swallow; It was trapped. Completely blocking her ability to speak so comprehensively all she could manage was a faint muffled squeak, mostly through her nose. But eyes drew down lower and she could see…

The glittering crystalline knotted shape and how it was clearly made to fit in somewhere perfectly. A cover to make her less exposed but even more tormented by the shape.

And the tiny card sitting next to it with a lot number and words she couldn’t read… it was enough to put two and two together. She was on display, and someone… sooner or later… was going to buy her.

Not as a griffon… rather, as an objet d’art.

Helplessly coveted.

I’ve had this vaguely in the works since 2023, some might recall the lineart I did for a Gilda pot back then but I could never quite get it done satisfactory with my skills and resources at the time. I think it’s there now, and I want to try doing more things with challenging and layered textures.

Historical pottery is one of many interests of mine that don’t have many outlets, in particular the absolute beautiful appearance of layered glaze and crazing that celadon often displays, such as found on period Korean Goryeo ware (10th to 14th century), and on which this vase is sort of modeled, with some distinct artistic liberty lol. This shape is called ‘Maebyeong’ and was meant for holding wine or displaying plum blossoms on a branch, but the shape itself is apparently meant to appear body-like, with a curvy almost bust like top, tapered waist, and a flared bottom; I think it accentuates the features of a griffon quite beautifully. There’s a counterpart bottom heavy shape that is supposed to match the curve that might be fun to put a male griffie into.

Celadon is still made and valuable, I particularly love the modern celadons of Japanese Kyō ware, which tend to be bluer like the sky on a bright wintery day versus the pale greens in ancient Goryeo ware which are more of a Jade-like effect.

I’d like to wrap more things that interest me into my drawings like this, adds layers I think. Makes my bizarre kinks feel a little more substantial lmao <3
