Hey everyone,

I thought I'd do a little blog post going over some of the things I've been up to since finishing the Crash Nitro Kart videos to keep you all posted on how things are going.

A relatively massive success!

Not to seem cocky about it or anything, but the CNK videos have easily been some of the biggest successes my channel has seen, at least when it comes to the actual content I put the most effort into.

(I've had smaller shitpost content that I've thrown together in a couple of hours do better than this before but that's not really what I want to be known for)

As of right now the videos have a combined view count of over 16 thousand views, and I've had plenty of people commenting saying they found me through a YouTube recommendation so... something went my way!

This came as a big surprise to me considering I run a  fairly small channel by all accounts, plus the fact the hype train that helped the original CTR video do so well around the time Nitro Fueled was released has sort of passed now... so... yeah, I'm still trying to figure out what I did to make this happen but... it happened!

Releasing two videos back-to-back like this was also a sort of test-run for something similar I plan to do in the future with an entire series of games... which I was on the fence about doing given how long it would take to prepare but... if the same things happens again I may go ahead with my original plans of doing that once all this Crash content is done with.

What's next?

Not that I'm rushing videos out as I still very much value the quality of my work over the speed I'm able to make these videos... as hinted (or rather, outright shown... several times) I have begun working on Crash TwinSanity.

The game is finished and I've almost finished writing a script. As of right now it's gone 1am in the morning and I have a day off from my day job tomorrow so I'm hoping to have the script finished and voice-over potentially recorded by the end of the day.

I'd previously showed myself doing this on Twitter, but I've also made myself a decent quality PNG of the games Box Art as I wanted to use it in the thumbnail, but no good quality version of the image was anywhere to be seen so I just made one myself!

No Crash Nitro Kart Behind The Scenes?!

Yeah... Sorry to say this but I think I'm going to give it a miss on doing the Behind the Scenes post in full, and I'm going to knock the whole Behind The Scenes stuff on the head (at least for a while)

As insightful as they can be, I do struggle to come up with interesting things to say, especially when everything I planned to do went well with no major hiccups along the way...

That and... I just want to move on and get started with the next video if I'm being honest, which as you can see... has already happened!

I will make sure to post little bits and pieces of Behind the Scenes stuff in these updates though, as it;s much easier to write about them in blog posts as they happen, rather than an entire writing session after the fact...

The main thing I would have said about Crash Nitro Kart for Behind The Scenes is that I originally intended for the two videos to involve more time travel, and have two versions of myself reviewing both games simultaneously...

Each video would have shared lines and gags between them, further playing on them happening at the same time, and one would be hosted by regular Pete, with the other hosted by the future time traveler Pete seen in the Crash Team Racing video...

All of this was because I was actually thinking of uploading and publishing BOTH videos at the same time... but after discussions with other creators and someone at Screenwave Media about the idea, I decided against it.

Doing that may well have crippled one or even both videos from being seen, given my normal upload schedule.... uploading both at the EXACT same time may have screwed up my chances with the algorithm, or whatever.

Thankfully, it turned out WAAAAAY better for me to upload one per week, as I think the fact I was bale to openly advertise the second video going up the following week as a fact really helped.

Regarding future Behind the Scenes content, I'll make it 100% clear on the front page that it's mainly going to be Blog Posts from now on when I get the chance, but these posts will still contain the odd bits of Behind The Scenes stuff either way so you'll still hear things from me in that regard!

Back to work!

As I say, it's getting late as I type this... and I have an entire day to myself tomorrow so outside of going out to by myself some better footwear... (the weather here in the UK is really starting to get bad with rain and cold as we're approaching winter!)

I'll be busying myself with all of that and hopefully piecing the audio together fairly soon.
