I want to get right to the most importants point first:
The page is doing better than ever, we have more members than ever, and I'm extremely grateful to be able to say that we've reached some goals that seemed like pipe dreams just a couple of years ago. So after going over all the numbers, I'm happy to announce that in just over 2 months, on October 15, tier prices will be lowered.
I've been reinvesting a very large amount of profit right back into 3D assets, camera gear, actors, hardware, software, etc for quite some time now. A lot of people told me I was crazy, but somehow I made it work, and none of it would be possible without your support. Now that we have enough of those investments bearing fruit and enough people supporting this niche amateur work, I feel like I can operate things more efficiently than ever while still improving the quality going forward. And also, I can pass some of those savings on to you guys. Below are the new tier prices.
New Prices (Monthly, USD):
Renders and Comics - $3 (New Tier)
Magnifying Glass (Animations) - $8 $7 (-1 usd)
Microscope (Live Action) - $18 $14 (-4 usd)
Star Patron (Bonus Content) - $23 $21 (-2 usd)
In the coming months, I'm going to be rebooting the old "Reading Glasses" tier, (now "Renders and Comics"). As the new name implies, this is my tier for any kind of still renders. Since it will be my lowest priced tier, it will be included automatically for anyone who is already on a paid tier, adding more value for current paid members. For anyone not on a higher tier, it will serve as a low-risk entry point to my work at $3usd per month. I'm doing a lot up front to ensure a consistent release schedule. I'll have more news about what that schedule will look like in September.
Tier names will change to be more direct at some point in the next 2 months. "Microscope" will be "Live Action" and so on.
In most cases, the price changes will show up on your next billing date (within 30 days).
In some situations, such as for those paying directly through the ios app (App Store), you may need to cancel your subscription and rejoin to get the new pricing, according to Apple's rules. (You also pay Apple an extra 33% to sign up through their app, so I don't recommend it.)
Thank you!
