IMPORTANT! (especially for free members) (Patreon)

On November 1, 2026, Patreon is forcing anyone with a legacy billing plan (like me) to a subscription plan because of the Apple store. If you are already on a "paid" tier here (this Patreon does not actually charge you) then MOST LIKELY very little will change. You will be grandfathered in to being "charged" (again, you are not charged) on the 1st of every month. There are some annoying features that come with subscription billing, but since I'm not switched to it yet I don't really know what will change, but will update about those later.

But if you are a free member currently and ever wanted to consider actually joining this Patreon on a "paid" tier to get completely free access to things, you should do it before November 1, 2026.

Because after this, Patreon will charge you UPFRONT to join any tier on anybody's Patreon page. Right now, if you join a paid tier, you would not be "charged" (again, you will never be charged on my Patreon) until the 1st of the following month. So you will never pay anything at all. But the subscription billing FORCES you to pay WHEN YOU SIGN UP, and then your "payment" date is locked to that day for the rest of the time you subscribe. I can't stop this, I can't undo it, the ONLY thing I can do is immediately refund you. Which I will do, it's just going to be very annoying! For both of us!

So if you are a free member with any interest in seeing the "non-free" (again, they are free!) posts here, I would highly recommend you join a tier before the end of October. If you were in a paid tier and left, joining again after November 1st will also put you in the subscription billing, not grandfathered in. I can't fix or change this. Also, never sign up for a Patreon through the Apple app - and that's for anybody's Patreon that you join! If you want to join a Patreon absolutely do it through a desktop browser (and then you can access it fine on the app). Apple does all sorts of fuckery when you join a Patreon in the app.

I'm really sorry about this but I absolutely can't do anything about it. Just know if that if you ever accidentally get charged, it was despite all my best efforts and I will refund you immediately.
