On 0.6 delays (Patreon)

Our editor left the team. He put off his share of the work for a week, then said he was too tired and wanted to step away from development. I spoke with several people to find his replacement, but it was unsuccessful. Most freelancers refuse to work on a porn project, few that agreed to give it a try didn't do a good enough job.

It was our editor's idea to start PFFG and work on Cursed Forest Quest. It's sad to see him leave, but totally understandable. We all work full time jobs. Because of CFQ he worked an extra 5-6 hours every week.

I kept working on CFQ in the meantime. On top of doing all art for 0.6.2 I finished all art for 0.6.3. Keep in mind that I haven't started writing 0.6.3 in detail yet. Every time I write an update I end up adding more art than planned. The teaser illustration is a part of 0.6.3.

I'm not sure what to do now. I was thinking of finding an actual writer to join our team to speed up the development, but looking for potential winters is so time and effort consuming. It didn't bring any results either. I might have no choice but to do the editing myself. I'll give an update in a couple of days and start sketching for 0.6.4 for now.

It sucks that things haven’t gone as planned, but I really appreciate the honesty and how much effort you’re clearly putting into this, especially while juggling a full-time job. It’s easy to forget there are real people behind these projects and not just content machines. It's important to remember that life happens. Burnout is real, and finding reliable help isn’t easy, especially for niche projects like this. I’m just glad the project is still moving forward, even if it’s slower than expected. Take the time you need and don’t feel pressured to rush. Quality takes time and I’m here for it.

You guys constantly pump out fast updates that are incredibly good, and I would be happy if you start releasing updates at a far slower pace if the quality keeps up. You could also release larger more spaced out updates as well if that helps timewise. Also it may be selfish but I hope you don't change writers as you are currently doing great where so many fail. I'll keep subbing as long as the quality keeps up, and am okay with necessary delays.

Also art is looking great like always! For the first time I can’t really read the situation or what’s going on curious what caused her to be on all fours and where the cum is coming from excited to see if this was a result of durraks mind games or fmc naivety or a little bit of both. The fun part dialogue wise in this game has been seeing durrak figure out a way to put himself and her in these compromising positions.

I think someone already mentioned but I'll say it myself, I think that if you do a demo every 10/14 days and in between let's say 2 teasers that would work wonders, maybe this way you would have more time to do things without rushing? just a sujestion

I don't know if it would be a good idea to create a background for the scenes with AI to make it easier for you and also make you feel more involved in the story and the setting.

Honestly this would only be viable if dev makes a discord having to post here every time there is a delay would just bloat the patreon. Discord would make delay announcements a lot quicker and easier for himself and probably less stressful.

I honestly don't even care about content updates anymore—I just hope the developers can give us a response, even if it's just a short message. Just something to let us know that you're still working on the game. But for the past half month, you've been nearly unreachable. Are you really that busy? So busy that you can't spare even a few minutes to give us a quick update on how things are going? I'm not asking for rapid updates—I understand how difficult and exhausting that can be. But I sincerely hope you can find a bit of time to respond. Everyone is anxious, and no one wants to see such a great game come to an end here.

Why shouldn't I be worried? I'm a paying subscriber too. Before version 0.6, the developer released updates on time and responded actively—that already put them above the vast majority of creators. But since the release of version 0.61 last month, every update has been delayed, and apart from that, there’s been no news, no responses. This is completely different from the previous pattern of punctual updates and active communication. So why wouldn't I be worried? Many great games have followed this same path—delay after delay, and in the end, they get abandoned. Like I said, I don’t care how slow the updates are. I just hope you can at least release some information, because in my heart, this really is a great game.

Yes, brother, I’ve seen too many games that start off really well, attracting lots of subscribers or donations. Often, once the developers have made a lot of money, they begin to slack off, coming up with all kinds of excuses—like being sick, something happening to a team member, development issues, and so on—to delay updates. Given the current situation with this game, I can’t help but feel the same suspicion. Of course, these are just my personal guesses. If the developers release new content later on, then everything I’ve said above can be ignored. After all, many of us paid $13 to subscribe, yet the developers have shown no progress for half a month, continuously delaying and not even responding. I believe this will disappoint and even drive away many paying fans—myself included—even though I genuinely hope more people subscribe to this game so the developers can have more funding to continue their work.

I get where you're coming from, and I agree. Here’s some advice: if you’re not happy, just unsubscribe and move on. That’s what I did. If a good update drops later, I’ll come back. I was loving this game, but it’s just a small porn game at the end of the day. If the dev’s burned out or done and the project falls apart, it is what it is. That’s the risk you take when supporting projects like this. Vote with your wallets instead of wasting energy complaining.
