Ben had a comment about "talking over the coach". I agree that ordinarily that would be a bad thing, but the point the show is trying to make is that Oikawa is so much the leader of the team that, yes they need a coach, but he is LEADS the team. He's not only good enough to be the captain, but he can direct them because he sees so much on the court. That's why the coach smiled after Oikawa said that. It was exactly what he was going to say. So, the coach not only approves of what Oikawa says, but approves him leading the team in that way. The team trust him implicitly. That's why Oikawa learned in the previous episode. That he can't win by himself. He needs his team. And the only way to utilize your team is to make sure that you know all the information and relay that information to them.

The hand grabbing the back is symbolism. They use a lot of symbolism in this show. It is supposed to express that seijou is the better team over all at present and karasuno are fighting tooth and nail to catch up and grab this one win

I'd say Hinata was the MVP for me in this episode. But Charlie's right too, it's mostly team effort all throughout. It's just Hinata had thrown Josai off so many times and even made them feel rattled. So I'd give this episode to Hinata (and Kageyama ofc). 😊 Thanks guys for this reaction. Hope we'll get more Haikyuu pls 😊🙏🏻💜

idk if you guys already know this atp but just in case ill explain it: You only rotate when your team wins the point while the OTHER team was serving, not every point! So our team is serving, and they keep serving until the OTHER team wins the point, then the other team ROTATES positions, and the person in the back row right side (aka Position 1) is the server. They keep serving until our team wins a point. Then WE rotate positions, and the person in back right is the server. That's how servers can have streaks (as you've seen), but also how they change, and why some rotations therefore last longer if one side keeps winning consecutive points. Now you must start in your correct rotational position, but the second the server hits the ball, players can run/switch to their actual specialized positions. For example, if kageyama is in the backrow, he'll be standing behind the passers at first. But as soon as the ball is served, he'll immediately run up to the net in order to set, and let the receivers pass the ball to him, since his job isn't to do the first pass. (That's why in a previous episode oikawa was aiming his serve exactly where kageyama passes asahi - this is a good tactic in volleyball, and i've def targeted my serves to land where the setter was standing in the back many times before). Another example is that hinata is the middle blocker, however he'll technically be in all three front row positions throughout his rotation - but as soon as the ball is served, hinata will always run to the middle position (his "base") and the outside/wing hitter/spiker will always run to spike/block on the left side of the court. It's prob too confusing to explain how middle & libero switches happen, but just know that when hinata rotates to the backrow, the libero plays instead of him, and tsukishima becomes the middle blocker, and then when the libero rotates to the front and tsukishima rotates to the back, hinata becomes middle blocker again and the libero (nishinoya) is playing backrow instead of tsukishima for the next 3 rotations, and so forth. Sorry I wrote a lot, I used to play volleyball for almost 9 years and I just love this anime so much and I love watching people realize how awesome/fun/hard volleyball is (while watching your reactions I'm kinda realizing it was easier to enjoy since I already know all the rules of volleyball lol - though they def do a pretty good job of explaining too).

Hinata and captain the MVP for sure
