I’m here too early and the video is still private, time to rewatch old intermission lounges until it’s up

Eddie B

It is not allowing me to open :(

GoneAwry

John did this.

PettySpiritHaWarudo

I can't believe John burned the Intermission Lounge to the ground.

MakeItRayn0r

oh is *that* what's happening? okay, cool; i was a bit pissed that my membership was busted or something

boronia

Video still private :'(

Mr. Kef

The video is still private for everyone right? It's not just me?

MakeItRayn0r

sign in to prove you're not a bot [am signed into both platforms] so the patreon version here is unloadable and the YT version through clicking the link pretends it doesn't exist. peculiar.

Mohmi

John villain arc is now locked for eternity

Mohmi

*everything wrong

The thing is, our world could, itself be a painting or some other form of simuation... does that give the theoretical gods of that reality the right to erase us from existence?

Alice Alysia

I keep going to write a more direct comment after having some time to think on this, but it always turns into more of an ethical philosophy essay. So I guess I'll go and make a video essay instead... Which would be the first time I've ever done that, but fuck it. Never too late to start something new.

Numbers

I need the LFAB episode time stamp, when Jam said he would be racist to robots.

So the gestral rebirth mission to me says a lot about being repainted into the world too. Like, the Lune and Sciel that get brought back by Maelle are her versions of them, not the ones we knew. Sciel makes a comment to Verso about not bringing her husband back before she knew it was a possibility, but after being repainted shes like "hell yeah bring him back" which is what Maelle would THINK she would feel because she doesnt have the knowledge of the conversation between just Verso and Sciel. By the logic people defend the painted world, what is the issue with Maelle leaving and recovering and then repainting a new world? It wouldn't be the same? Its already not the same once she can tamper with people in it

Mark Ramirez

Hard agree with John. Woolie is stuck in the matrix

YOUR DEAD Videogame Production

Watched this with my GF the day after she finished the game and we both went ballistic when the reveal of different choices happened. We both picked Maelle for the record, she deserves to be happy despite her shithead overbearing family, and the people of Lumiere deserve to exist, even if it's not "real". What's saying there's no greater reality out there... What if tomorrow some handsome guy said that because of family drama in a world you can't even concieve, you and your entire world deserves to die? Would that be okay too? Apocalypse because one family can't properly process their grief? Also not to mention in the verso ending the parents don't even acknowledge Maelle. Clea does, but she has her own shit to deal with, and leaves the frame. Nothing has changed in that family. I want a second episode of this. There's still so much to cover!

DeltaEagle

You know the boys put on a great podcast when you are fully entertained when you haven't played the game. Nice job guys, Keep up the great work!

Fraser King

The shared shock at each other choosing a different ending is so peak. I chose Verso’s ending, personally, but I’m certainly not gonna begrudge anyone for going the other way. To me it just made the most thematic sense.

Oblongota

I hate to say it. John is 100% correct.

Serious Bichon

I’m with John, also there is a difference between a painted world where the gods are busy and one where god wants to actively play house

rabnessmonster25

I dono how you can go through a whole game with these characters in particular my beloved Lune and then choose Verso ending.

Strike3

You both need to read Grant Morrison's Animal Man run, it's INCREDIBLY RELIVENT to the end of the game. The comic kinda pushes me in John's camp also

Darius Spegal

Between this and the new episode, I couldn't be happier. Woolie, I hope everything is going well for you and your family!!

Evilknightz

Maelle ending could not be more twisted and wrong. It's the equivalent of falling headfirst into drug addiction that kills you to avoid your grief.

RafalW616

This might be anti-hot take but i believe the reason for the way endings work is that there is no good ending, In both someone has to loose something.

MagicConch

Oh great now we know for sure John is a monster. If God came down and said "sorry John, you're fake" he'd be ok with letting the planet blow up because all of humanity as we know it and all our lived experience don't matter anymore. John can make the choice by himself to let everyone die.

MagicConch

No it does not. In fact it gives those gods a responsibility to ensure their creations are happy. Renoir even apologizes to Verso because his situation isn't fair to him. Even Renoir recognizes Versos humanity and John doesn't.

Mack Ingram

I believe in the Maelle ending but Verso being made to play the piano for everyone reminded me of Michael Jordan being forced to be dunked on for all eternity on Moron Mountain.

Spazerbeam

Woolie is the most wrong I've ever seen anyone ever be.

Lukeshef

But you're not blowing it up because it doesnt matter, you're blowing it up because its causing the god immense suffering. Obviously I wouldn't feel good about it, but if the being that created me was so much more than me, capable of so much more, and my existence was causing it immense suffering, I wouldn't want it to kill me but I would understand why it was choosing to.

MagicConch

But that's not Johns point at all though. John is saying that whatever the people in the painting want doesn't matter because they're not real. John doesn't see them as beings with thought and potential, he doesn't think they deserve any rights at all, and so doesn't feel anything when deciding (on his own authority and without getting their opinions on the matter) that they can all die.

Paavo Keski-Orvola

I agree with John on Verso ending completely. I think keeping this comathose version of Verso who can't move on alive is just cruel. Letting Maelle stay there is kind of letting an addict indulge in their addiction.

Dead Jim

Would you still walk away from Omelas if it meant killing everyone in the city?

downright darius

When they said their endings three loud WHATS shook my house

Alt

Im glad Woolie brought up "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" cuz that was my entire reason for picking Verso's ending. Not just cuz painted Verso is suffering, but because the last remnants of the original Verso would be suffering as well. A utopia built upon the suffering of one is no paradise.
